Tangled: Glowing Lanterns

By  |  0 Comments

“I’ve been looking out of a window for eighteen years, dreaming about what I might feel like when those lights rise in the sky.” – Rapunzel

I could watch Disney’s Tangled over and over and never get tired of it – mostly because of the music.  I’m a sucker for good music.  My favorite scene is when Flynn and Rapunzel see the lanterns.  Let’s be honest, this is probably everybody’s favorite scene.  Or at least every woman’s.  It’s so romantic!

In honor of my favorite scene and song, we made our own version of the lanterns from Tangled.

Materials Needed:

  • Black balloons
  • Patterned scrapbook paper
  • Tape
  • Black Light

How to Make the Lanterns:

  • Wrap the paper around the balloon.  Depending on how big your balloon is you may need 2-3 pieces of paper.  Tape the paper together.  It should look like a cylinder and the balloon should be completely covered.
  • String the balloons together and hang them from the ceiling.

  • Turn on the black light and enjoy your floating, glowing lanterns.

These would be a perfect decoration for any Tangled-themed party!
