Sleeping Beauty – Cake Decorating
Fauna: Now, yeast, one tsp. Tsp?
Merryweather: One teaspoon.
Fauna: One teaspoon, of course!
There are so many wonderful moments in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. I love the scene where the fairies want to throw Aurora a birthday party without using magic. The dress reminds me of some of my first attempts at sewing. The cake looks like it came straight from Cake Wrecks. (If you need a good laugh, click that link.)
I let my girls design their own cakes.

- Cake Decorating Sheet (below)
- Art supplies: crayons, paints, markers, etc.
I laid out the materials, told the girls we were designing cakes, and they did the rest.
My kids love to draw.
Here is Goofy’s completed cake.
Princess had so much fun she made two cakes. Let’s take a closer look at them.
The first cake is for Rainbow Dash. Don’t you love all of the rainbows? The second cake is for Rarity. Look at the lovely diamonds. My kids are obsessed with My Little Pony right now if you can’t tell.
They had a blast! Now you could go all out and make cupcakes or a full-fledged cake for your kids to decorate if you’re feeling bold and are ready to clean up a mess. I might do that someday, but for now this little craft was perfect.
Here is the cake decorating sheet printable:
What cakes will your kids design? (Or if you’re feeling crafty what will you design?)
Have fun watching the fairies using magic to fix the disaster of a party. (Wouldn’t it be nice to have a magic to clean my house? *Sigh!*) Click the picture below.
