Pocahontas: Colors of the Wind Painting
“Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?” – Pocahontas
I take Disney movies very seriously – almost literally. (Yes, I still believe in magic at 27 years old.) So when Pocahontas asks, “Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?” I think to myself, “I want to paint with colors of the wind. How can I do it?” Thus, a new activity is born. It’s that easy.
Colors of the Wind Painting
- Watercolor paint
- A paint brush
- A cup full of water
- A straw
- Aprons (optional)
How to Play:
- Set up a work station (pictured above).
- Wet the paint. Using a paint brush, put a very wet spot of paint on your paper.
- Using the straw, blow the paint so that it runs in all directions.
Make sure to blow hard!
Look at how fun that is!
- Continue repeatedly until you have the desired effect.
Here are the finished masterpieces. I’m sure Pocahontas would be proud.
