Honey I Shrunk the Kids – Sprinkler Fun
Amy: I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore, Toto.
Nick: I don’t think we’re on the food chain anymore, Dorothy.
I used to watch Honey I Shrunk the Kids all the time when I was little. My favorite scene is when Amy is dancing in the kitchen with the mop. Maybe that’s why I like to dance with the vacuum… *Ahem.* Anyway…
Sometimes the best movie-themed activities require the least amount of work. In Honey I Shrunk the Kids there is the scene where the kids are in the backyard and the sprinklers come on. I looked outside. The sun was up. The sky was blue. The sprinklers were on. Time to pull out the swimming suits!
- Swimming suits
- Sprinklers/Hose with attachment
After putting on swimming suits and slopping on some sunscreen (ah, the curse of fair skin) the kids dashed out the door and into the sprinklers.
They chased each other all over the yard.
Princess laughed the entire time.
Goofy wasn’t sure about being wet at first, but she got into it.
What a fun activity for the whole family! If your kids are old enough you could have them try to get across the entire yard without getting wet. Can they do it?!
You just can’t go wrong with a day in the sprinklers and a great movie!
