Halloween Caramel Popcorn

Caramel so soft it’s SCARY!

I don’t usually stray from posting movie-themed activities…except for food.  I will stray for movie-snackable food.  Especially popcorn.

Do you know what I love about popcorn?  It is so versatile!  Want a healthy snack?  Simply air pop and eat.  Have a sweet tooth?  Make caramel or kettle corn.  Want to try something a little gourmet?  Perhaps a Cheesy Barbecue Popcorn will hit the spot.  You can add salt, spice, cheese, butter…the options are endless.  This Halloween caramel popcorn is for the sweet tooth (and if you’re like me every last tooth is a sweet tooth!).  It is a perfect treat for any Halloween party.

Halloween Caramel Popcorn

  • Unseasoned, popped popcorn
  • 1 c light corn syrup
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • Red and yellow food coloring

  • Put all ingredients into a large saucepan.
  • Melt all ingredients over medium-low heat adding food coloring as you go until you get an orange you like.

Here’s my lovely orange caramel.

  • Once caramel is boiling, cook for approximately 2 minutes.
  • Pour over popcorn immediately.  Coat evenly.
  • Allow popcorn to cool, then add chocolate chips (unless you like gooey, chocolatey fingers).

That’s it.  Easy-peasy.  You will have delicious, soft caramel popcorn that is sure to please.

Go make some Halloween caramel popcorn, grab your favorite Halloween movie, and have a “hauntingly” good night!
