F is for Finding Nemo – Preschool Lesson
“First day of school! First day of school!” – Nemo
I think Pixar portrayed it perfectly when Nemo comes bouncing in on his dad on his first day of school. My kids are just as excited whenever I announce it’s time for preschool. Do your kids love learning? I hope so, because here comes another lesson from Bestie that your kids will absolutely love!
LESSON AND A MOVIE
- Movie of the Day: Finding Nemo
- Snack of the Day: Goldfish; You could do a Pretzel Fishing Pole (Smart and Trendy Moms), or you could do a Celery Stick Pole (Creatively Blooming).
Letter Tracing: After talking about the letter F and the sound it makes, Brownie traced the letter F on a book that Bestie bought at the dollar store. If you would like some letter F tracing sheets try some of these:
- Letter F and fish tracing page (goes right along with the lesson) – Teacher Express from Scholastic (it does cost $.99)
- Beginning consonants – Letter F (again, has a fish and is FREE) – Kidzone
Story Time: For story time Bestie read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Suess. They listened for the “Ffff” sound throughout the book.
Letter F Fish Craft: Bestie found this super cute letter F fish craft on Mc TOT.
She didn’t have Brownie make an actual fish, but she did have her put fish scales all over the letter F. Such a clever idea! I know my kids will love trying out this craft.
Homework: Read a book together. Have your child point out some of the letters they have been learning.
