Boo’s Cheerio Catch

Sulley: “How can I do this?  How could I be so stupid?  This could ruin the company.”
Mike: “The company?  Who cares about the company?  What about us?  That thing is a killing machine!”
[Points at Boo, who is babbling harmlessly]
Mike: I bet it’s waiting for us to fall asleep, and then – bam!  Oh, we’re easy prey, my friend.  Easy pray!  We’re sitting targets!”

Humans are not toxic.  You know that.  I know that.  But Sulley and Mike did not know that when little Boo entered the monster world in Disney/Pixar’s Monsters, Inc.  I love when she is toddling around Mike’s house while Sulley and Mike are trying to stay as far away from her as possible.  They try to feed her without touching her.  They do this by throwing cheerios into her mouth.  It reminds me of my little sister tossing grapes in the air and catching them in her mouth.  She has always been really good at that.

I knew my kids would love to try to catching food in their mouths.  After all, who doesn’t love to play with their food?

How to Play:

  • Grab a handful of cheerios (or any small food item like fruit loops, marshmallows, etc.).

  • The two people playing stand a distance apart.  One person tosses the cheerios and the other tries to catch them in their mouth.

Open wide!

Here it comes!

After a few tries, Princess caught it.

Doesn’t she look so proud of herself?

  1. Play by yourself: Toss the cheerios high in the air and see how many you can catch in one try.
  2. Timed challenge: Set a timer and see how many you can catch before the time runs out.

What is your favorite way to play with your food?  Leave a comment.
