Aladdin Family Movie Night

I love movie nights with my family.  You just can’t go wrong with Disney classics.  I set up a couple of stations with activities for the kids to do:

We started by making Aladdin’s apple juice.  (Remember how Aladdin is always showing off with apples in the movie?)

Aladdin’s Apple Juice

Materials You’ll Need:

  1. A pitcher
  2. Water
  3. Apple juice concentrate
  4. A whisk or fork
  5. Ice (if desired)

Just follow the directions on the juice can.  My kids love pouring in the apple juice concentrate.

Abu’s Monkey Bread

Next, we made Abu’s Monkey Bread to eat while watching the movie.  Click here for the recipe.

While the dough was rising we turned on the Aladdin soundtrack and had Genie’s Parade around the kitchen.

Materials You’ll Need:

  1. Musical instruments of any kind (or maybe you want to get creative and make your own)
  2. Aladdin soundtrack or some sort of kid-friendly music

Goofy had fun marching and Princess liked singing and dancing to the music.

Making some noise.

After the girls were tired of marching around the kitchen we went on Jasmine’s Magic Carpet Ride.

Materials You’ll Need:

  1. A blanket that you’re not afraid of ruining

The kids sat on a blanket and I pulled them around the house.

This was one of their favorite parts of the night.

Even Bud got a ride.

As a final activity, before we watched the movie, the girls fought Jafar.

Materials You’ll Need:

  1. A pool noodle
  2. A sharpie marker
  3. A balloon
  4. Yarn
  5. A paper clip
  6. Fake swords/daggers

They each got a sword and fought my homemade snake.  To make Jafar as a snake I simply blew up a balloon, drew a face on it, tied a piece of yarn to it, tied a paper clip on the other end, threaded it through the pool noodle, and tied off the bottom.

The kids had so much fun chasing “Jafar” around the kitchen and hitting him with swords.  Get him Goofy!

Bud had a great time batting at Jafar.

After all of the fun we watched the movie and ate Abu’s Monkey Bread.

It was delicious!  What a fun-filled night!

Let me know how your family movie night turns out.
